The EU TalentOn is a European event that brings together young researchers to tackle global challenges through creative and actionable solutions. Participants are invited to contribute to the Horizon Europe Missions, a flagship initiative of the EU addressing key societal challenges aligned with the European Green Deal.
The Mission "Restore our Ocean & Waters" focuses on the preservation and restoration of marine and aquatic ecosystems. Its goal is to clean, protect, and restore our oceans, seas, and freshwater bodies by 2030. The project presented by Akshay Kowlesser and his team, WhaleTrail, embodies this vision with an innovative and sustainable approach to one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.
Horizon Europe is the EU’s framework program for research and innovation, promoting the development of solutions to major contemporary issues. It is highly encouraging to see one of our PhD students from the CLEAR-Doc program already well-versed in these critical European missions.
