Hala ZOUAD Refreshing urban transit environments in the Euro-Mediterranean region: thermographic modelling and low-tech renovation of hubs

Her background
I spent five years majoring in urban and regional planning. After earning my degree, I began consulting for various companies as an urban planner before deciding to change my profession to community and marketing management. I was motivated by curiosity to explore new avenues that I had never dared to explore and to push myself to become someone I had never imagined myself to be.
I was determined to stand out throughout my first year of college, to pursue my dreams, and to advance my career without ever settling for anything less than my best which allowed me to develop solid competence in scientific writing, mentorship, active listening, and professional translation. I'm not sure if there is just one thing I want to become, but I want to be flexible since I want to be virtually everything.

Key facts

  • I like to define myself as a versatile person.
  • I am a dreamer and through my research, I get to dream more or even better.
  • I aspire to be part of the change, to leave this place better than I found it.

Summary of your thesis
My thesis examines how train stations as critical infrastructures must deal with the difficulties of global warming and rising heatwaves in the Euro-Mediterranean zone. It is in a join programme organised in Gustave Eiffel University and Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain) with the collaboration of AREP (Subsidiary of SNCF).

What's next?
After finishing my PhD, I plan to continue my research career by obtaining a post-doctoral position. Afterward, I want to gain enough experience to have a successful entrepreneurship journey towards sustainability.
